Kitchen and Bath Industry Show Will Feature Thousands of New Products
In a Houzz survey, about 60% of people said they have plans to remodel their master bathroom. If they’re looking for ideas, perhaps they should consider attending the next national Kitchen and Bath Industry Show event. This event serves as a grounds to showcase up-and-coming products and remodeling designs. However, Jill Johnson, manager of the KSI showroom in Ann Arbor, says these showcased products don’t always become popular right away.
“Most of our customers have a more conservative style for their kitchen, so a lot of the things you see at the Kitchen and Bath show aren’t in demand here,” said Johnson.
One room that people are always looking for new products for is their bathroom, specifically custom showers.
“Most of them are updating homes built in the ’80s and ’90s that had a traditional tub and shower, which they don’t want today. Instead, they want a large walk-in shower and even want more than one shower head. I had one customer tell me he wanted a shower like a car wash with body sprays all around him,” said Brooke Schall, a designer at KSI Kitchen and Bath in Macomb Township.
Also gaining popularity are showers with seats, hand-held shower heads, and other shower-related modern technologies.
When it comes to kitchen remodeling, customers are primarily interested in two aspects: faucets and cabinets. Touchless faucets are becoming increasingly popular due to their hygienic appeal. As for cabinets, customers prefer white.
“I have a white kitchen display in our showroom and customers immediately go to it when they walk in,” said Johnson. “The white or gray flat finishes on cabinets really is a classy look and very popular.”
Counter tops are also in high demand. More customers are starting to prefer quartz over granite due to the wide variety of color options and low maintenance level.
Overall, the Internet is great for looking for designs, but it’s recommended to visit a showroom and see the displays in person.
The next Kitchen and Bath Industry Show is scheduled for January 10-12, 2018 and will feature thousands of new remodeling products for customers to browse.
